Swimming again

One of the easily accessible beaches near us are those in Hungary. Going to Balaton to be exact, takes 3 hours or less drive from Vienna. There are lots of apartments and houses or villas for rent there as it is in Lignano. A backyard pool would be a constant feature much to the kids’ delight. They could swim directly as they open their eyes in the morning. ^_^

Beaches are of course easily accessible by foot…restaurants abound and there are a lot of markets too in case we’d like to have something homecooked. <— Seldom happens because when you’re on vacation mode then your body forgets thos regular home jobs too. lol.

But seeing how fresh the fruits of the sea were, we had salmon, tuna, squid often, mostly grilled. (You just can’t go all week eating out.) Pasta with fish-based sauces were also a hit! I think the kids would munch on anything because they get so tired being in the water all the time.

***Making sure the kids are wearing their water wings/swim arm floats was one task I never forgot to do. Notice that orange is the dominant color for the floaties…this is so it can be easily seen against the blue waters.

    MIST ON THE OCEAN

    Mist on the ocean,
    Mist on the sea,
    Mist on the meadow,
    Mist on the tree;

    Dew on the grasses,
    Dew on the rose,
    Dew in the garden,
    Dew on my clothes;

    All of this wetness,
    It’s plain to see,
    Promises blessings
    For you and me!

  4. that’s the fun thing about europe, when you need to go to the beach you can cross to another country to do that. california is so big that going from SF to LA takes no less than 6 hours, depending on the traffic. it used to be 8 hours really, but sometimes it’s less than that.

  5. sounds like a nice place and everyone’s having fun! i think its my first time here and i love your header! visiting you from orange tuesdays and have a great weekend!
